Two girls, including a minor were allegedly sexually assaulted in different parts of the city. In the first case, a 12 year-old-girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by three persons living in her neighbourhood on Bahadur Ke Road Ludhiana.

The minor complained to the police that the accused used to stop and harass her on the way to her school and home.

In her complaint filed to the police, she alleged that the accused had also manhandled her. She also said that one of the accused, who resides opposite to her home, often abused her whenever she went to her terrace.

The girl alleged that she was forced to drop her studies because of routine harassment caused by the accused. The accused have been identified as Vikram Kala, Rakesh Kumar and Varinder Kumar of New Azad Nagar on Bahadurke Road Ludhiana.

A case under Sections 294, 34 of the IPC and 8, 10 of The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act against the accused has been registered at the Jodhewal Basti Police Station. Investigation officer, Nirvail Singh said they were probing the matter while the accused are yet to be arrested.

In another case, the police have arrested a man for allegedly harassing a 19-year-old college -going student. In her complaint, the girl alleged that the accused used to cause her mental and physical harassment for more than past two months. When she opposed, the accused threatened her, she stated in her complaint.

The accused has been identified as Jaspreet Singh of Guru Gobind Singh Nagar Ludhiana. A case under sections 354 A (sexual harassment), 354 B (assault or use of criminal force to woman with intent to disrobe), 354 D (stalking), 427 (mischief causing damage) and 506 (criminal intimidation) has been registered against the accused.
