The police have arrested two persons and recovered a stolen truck carrying iron bars. The suspects have been identified as Badal and Chetan Ahuja, both residents of the Bhamian Kalan area here.
The Division Number 6 SHO, Inspector Jasbinder Singh, said the suspects were arrested from the Sherpur Chowk area following a tip-off. They had stolen a truck laden with iron bars from Mandi Gobindgarh on the night of December 10. The Gobindgarh police had registered a case against unidentified persons.
“The suspects had stolen a truck in the Mandi Gobindgarh area earlier also. We expect more revelations from the suspects during further investigation,” said Jasbinder.
