Though the weather conditions in the region have improved a little, there is no relief for rail passengers. Railways announced cancellation of 11 trains, while eight others were rescheduled for late departure.
Among the 11 trains cancelled today, there were two pairs of intercity express trains operating on the New Delhi-Amritsar-New Delhi and the New Delhi-Jalandhar-New Delhi sections.
Railway officials said in addition to two pairs of intercity express trains on Amritsar/Jalandhar-New Delhi section, the 12408 Amritsar-Newjalpaiguri Karambhoomi Express, the 13152 Jammu-Kolkata Sealdah Express, the 14649 Jaynagar-Amritsar Saryu Yamuna Express, the 14674 Amritsar-Jaynagar Shaheed Express, a pair of the 15209/10 Saharsa-Amritsar-Saharsa Jansewa Express and the 15212 Amritsar-Darbhanga Jannayak Express were cancelled.
Eight trains rescheduled for the day were the 12053 Haridwar-Amritsar Janshatabdi Express (1 hrs), the 12238 Jammu-Varanasi Begumpura Express (3 hrs), the 12379 Sealdah-Amritsar Jallinwala Bagh Express (2.30 hrs), the 13050 Amritsar-Howrah Express (2.30 hrs), the 14611 Ghazipur City-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Express (5 hrs), the 15654 Jammu-Guwahati Amarnath Express, the 16317 Chennai-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Andaman Express (12.15 hrs) and the 18104 Amritsar-Tatanaga Jallinwala Bagh Express (2.25 hrs).
