Training programme on soil testing held

A training programme on ‘Installation and Demonstration of Mridaparikshak Soil Testing Minilab Kit’ was organised at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) today under the guidance of Dr RS Sidhu, Director of Extension Education, PAU.

In all, 32 participants from Krishi Vigyan Kendras of Punjab Agricultural University as well as Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU) attended the training programme.

In his inaugural remarks, Dr GS Buttar, Additional Director of Extension Education, PAU, said soil testing is important for judicious use of fertilizers, need based application of micronutrients and for sustaining agriculture.

Mohammad Azeemuddin, General Manager, Nagarjuna Agrochemicals Private Limited, Hyderabad, along with his team also participated in the training programme.

Dr SP Saini, Professor of Soil Science and Dr SK Thind, incharge, Plant Clinic, PAU, coordinated the programme.
