Three-year-old mowed down by car

Ludhiana, March 22

A three-year-old girl was mowed down by a car outside a gaushala, near the Police Division No. 3. The girl suffered serious injuries and was rushed to the CMC Hospital where she succumbed.

The deceased has been identified as Preet. On the complaint of victim’s father, Rahul, a resident of Islamganj, a case of negligent driving has been registered against the unknown car driver.

Victim’s father told the police that on March 20, he along with his daughter had gone to pay obeisance at the gaushala temple. Unfortunately, when his daughter was playing at the gaushala, she went on the road where a rashly driven car driver mowed her down.

On hearing noises outside gaushala he went to enquire and was shocked to see his daughter bleeding profusely.

The victim’s father alleged that after the accident car driver rushed his daughter to the hospital but due to severe injuries, she could not survive.

After admitting his daughter to the hospital, the car driver fled. The police said the car number was being traced and efforts were on to identify its owner.
