Three girls of BCM School, Sector 32, on Chandigarh Road, here went missing under mysterious circumstances on Monday. The incident came to light when teachers called up their families and asked about the reason for the girls’ absence from the school without notice.

The girls’ families told the school authorities that the girls had left for the school in the school bus in the morning. But when the school authorities told them that they did not reach the school, the families rushed to the school.

The girls’ families and the school authorities informed the Division Number 7 police. The girls were found at a religious place in Amritsar late in the evening. But it was not clear why the girls went to Amritsar without informing anyone.

When the school authorities questioned the bus driver, he told them that he dropped the girls along with other students outside the school gate and they entered the school. But instead of reaching their classes, the three students left the school without informing anyone, the sources added.

Principal of BCM School DP Guleria said the bus driver dropped the girls outside the school gate but they did not go to their classes. He said the school authorities always called up parents whenever any student was found absent without information. “All girls were found at a religious place in Amritsar in the evening. The members of their families have been informed about this,” he added.
