Teams of the city police under Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Sachin Gupta conducted a surprise check at the city railway station here today.
A sniffer dog accompanied police officials during the exercise. They checked rest rooms, bags and belongings of passengers, attendants among others.
Those present at the railway station were surprised as policemen started checking luggage of travellers and others randomly. A police official wishing not to be quoted said as June 6 would be observed as Ghallughara Divas (genocide day) so just a random checking was undertaken at the railway station.
