Taking a lead in talent promotion programme for students of government schools, the Raikot administration organised a sub-division level quiz contest and science exhibition at Maharaja Dalip Singh Memorial Kothi near here.

Raikot SDM Dr Himanshu Gupta chaired sessions convened by Dr Guntaj Saran and BDPO Navneet Joshi.

A team of Government Senior Secondary School, Barundi, constituting Surinder Singh, Rajwinder Kaur and Gurpreet Kaur bagged the first prize in the quiz contest.

Principal, GSSS Maherna Kalan, Davinder Singh Purba, was in-charge of the victorious team. The second prize in the contest was won by Dakashveer, Neha and Rajni Kaur of Government Middle School, Raikot, supervised by Kuldeep Kaur.

Dilpuneet Kaur, Ramandeep Kaur and Hapreet Kaur of Government Senior Secondary School, Talwandi Rai, took away the third prize in the contest. Principal Baljinder Kaur led the cluster team.

Budding scientists from Ajit Sar Government Girls School, Raikot, and Government High School, Kalsan, emerged winner and runners-up in the science exhibition held on the occasion. Dwarka Nath Senior Secondary School stood third in the exhibition.

Convener of the event, Navneet Joshi, said the contest was held in three stages. After conducting school level competitions, the administration had constituted six clusters, each of which sent one team in the tehsil-level competition.
