Students of Police DAV Public School, Police Line, Civil Lines, Ludhiana, excelled at the State-level Primary Punjab School Games organised in Sangrur. The students participated in various events in which Bhavika Sharma clinched the silver medal in badminton and Anushka Sharma also bagged silver in Gymnastics. Manthan Chaudhari and Naman Sharma won the bronze medal in swimming 4x50 medley relay. 

kids vow to save water

Eco club members of DAV Public School, Pakhowal Road, organised a pledge ceremony to save water and seminar on usage of twin bin on the school campus. Students along with staff pledged to shoulder the responsibility of protecting the environment and spreading the awareness to conserve it. The activity ensured that ethical values always remain ingrained in the minds of youth.

Fashion show organised

A fashion show was held at Guru Nanak Public School, Model Town Extension, to showcase the culture and heritage of different states of the country. Students of classes IV and V participated in the event with vigour. Students expressed their creativity by depicting the culture of various states through their costumes and accessories. 

Students discuss global issues 

Over 300 students participated in the Sacred Heart Convent School MUN 2019. They presented their perspective of their assigned country and discussed various global issues like seasoned diplomats. The session on Day 1 was divided into meeting of General Assembly 1, General Assembly 2, General Assembly 3 and the Security Council. Principal Sister Reshmi exhorted the students to work in a peaceful manner and resolve the issues that are closely related to them. 

World Television Day observed 

To make students aware about the importance of TV in spreading valuable information, Green Land Convent School, Sector 32, Chandigarh Road, Ludhiana, observed the World Television Day. Students of Class II presented television acts by conducting news, debates and advertisements. Principal Vinita Sanan talked about the merits and demerits of television and also enlightened the students on how to make the best use of technology. 

Aryabhata Ganit Challenge organised

Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, Ludhiana organised ‘Aryabhata Ganit Challenge’ for the students of Class VIII to X with an aim to generate interest of students towards mathematics. The event was organised under the aegis of BCBSE Centre of Excellence well-organised.

Dental check-up camp organised

To establish and promote the importance of good oral care habits, an oral dental check-up camp was organised in Dhandra village by Ryan International School, Dugri, in association with Dr Atamjit Singh. The camp started with dental awareness talk, educating the villagers about common dental ailments, especially stressing on tooth decay and gum diseases and measures to prevent them. 

Regional-Level Science exhibition 

A two-day Regional-level CBSE Science Exhibition-2019 was organised at Green Land Sr Sec Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, GT Road, Ludhiana. Over 140 models designed by students from 102 CBSE schools of Punjab and Chandigarh were at display. The models were based on the theme — Science and Technology for sustainable development and water conservation.  MLA Surinder Dawar was the chief guest at the event.
