Students shine at research convention

LUDHIANA: Sujata Thakur and Shaina Jain of College of Agriculture and College of Basic Sciences and Humanities, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), bagged first prize for their project proposals at the “Anveshan- 2019” held at the National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM), Sonepat from 16-17 January.

Sujata Thakur and Shaina Jain of College of Agriculture and College of Basic Sciences and Humanities, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), bagged first prize for their project proposals at the “Anveshan- 2019” held at the National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM), Sonepat from 16-17 January.

Thakur presented her project titled “Development of genomics platform in guava (psedium guajava L) for marker assisted breeding” and Jain’s project titled “Knowledge, practices and problems of waste and by-products management: A study of paddy growing farmers of Punjab”.

The duo would now represent the PAU at the national level students’ convention to be held in March 2019 at Ganpati University, Gujarat. Manmeet Kaur and Kripa Seth from the PAU also participated in the convention. TNS
