Students deliberate on values of Vedic traditions

Sanatan Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School, New Deep Nagar, in collaboration with Ved Prachar Mandal, Ludhiana, orgnised an inter-school Vedic speech competition, under the provincial general secretary of the mandal, Roshan Lal Arya. The function was presided over by Vijay Laxmi, principal, DD Jain College of Education.

Students from various schools participated in this competition and spoke on topics such as Maharishi Dayanand, respect for parents, role of Arya Samaj in freedom movement, ‘Sadachran bin Giyan Adhura’, ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’, Prayavaran and yagya’, ‘Jab Awe Santosh Dhan Sab Dhan Dhul Saman’, ‘Hum Sub Ka Ek Sapna’, ‘Nasha Viheen Ho Smaj Apna’, ‘Dhra Ka Adhaar Naari’, ‘Shubh Karman Toan Kabhun Na Drun’, ‘Bhagya Aur Purushrath’, ‘Yama-Niyam Ka Mahatav’, ‘Manas Ki Jaat Sabe Eke Phchanbo, ‘Mobile internet Ka Sadupyog’.

The chief guest appreciated the programme and said such competitions should be organised from time to time to promote moral values among the youth.

Niraj form Shri Krishna Model High School stood first while Simran from Khalsa Girls Senior Secondary School came second, followed by Muskan Sharma from Rajindra Model School. SDP Senior Secondary School and Rashtriya Bal Vidya Mandir School were given ‘commendable’ awards.

In his address, the chairman of the function, Vijay Lakshmi, said it was a virtuous task to alert the youth to the evils spread in society and for this, all officials and members of the Ved Prachar Mandal deserved to be congratulated. There was a need to work together to solve the problems being faced by the country, he added.
