Street plays sensitise people on PF benefit

After the Employees Provident Fund, Ludhiana office, started an awareness drive by holding street plays (nukkad natak) in industrial areas and labour colonies, the drive has been shifted to city parks. Today, a play was performed at Rose Garden.

The purpose of the play was to make people aware of the benefits of PF, pension and insurance schemes under the EPFO. Through this play, it was also informed that the Employees Provident Fund Scheme was mandatory and not optional.

Dheeraj Gupta, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner, said through this play, the facilities of PF, such as matching contribution by the employer, high rate of interest, withdrawal amount online facility, pension scheme, free EDLI scheme, procuring non-refundable advances in service, including purchase or construction of house, for the marriage of child, for child education, and in addition to this, digitalization were made known.

Gupta said the PF Department would conduct plays at various city parks where people would be made aware of their PF rights. — TNS
