Income Tax Department’s Tax Deduction Source (TDS) wing conducted a regional conference for educating, training and skill development of around 1000 TDS/TCS (Tax Collection Source) deductors from central government, state government, semi-government institutions, banks and private concerns.

The gathering was addressed by a team from the Central Processing Cell-TDS, Ghaziabad, and officers of the department. The conference was held at Guru Nanak Public School at Sarabha Nagar, Ludhiana, and was organised under the aegis of the Commissioner of Income Tax (North West Region) YK Singh and the Joint Commissioner of Income Tax, Ludhiana, Tarundeep Kaur.

Incentives will continue, Commerce Secy assures

Addressing the Federation of Indian Export Organisation’s (FIEO) Open House Session regarding ‘Mid-term review of Foreign Trade Policy’, Commerce Secretary Rita Teaotia assured the participants that the government would continue the incentive schemes regarding after the implementation of the GST.

However, she clarified that the deemed export benefits might discontinue as all would get level playing field in the GST regime. The Open House Session was organised by the FIEO to invite suggestions from exporters on the measures needed to improve country’s exports in the GST regime.
