Ludhiana: The Sarabha Nagar police have booked two wine shop contractors for selling liquor to their clients during odd hours. In the first case, the police booked Gyal Inder of BRS Nagar and Prahlad Kumar of BRS Nagar for selling liquor to clients at 12.30 am on Thursday night near Orient Cinema. In the second case, the police have booked one Panesar Singh of BRS Nagar for selling liquor at night hours which is against law. Both accused were arrested.

Weapon seized from drug peddler

The Sadar police have recovered an illegal country-made .315 pistol along with six live cartridges from a drug peddler. The accused has been identified as Vijay Kumar, a resident of Guru Gobind Singh Nagar, Daba colony. He was nabbed by the city police on August 14. During interrogation, he revealed that he had also concealed an illegal weapon at some plot at the isolated place in Daad village, which was recovered by the police.

Two booked for kidnapping

The division no. 6 police have booked a man on the charge of kidnapping a minor girl. The accused has been identified as Krishna, a resident of Hargobind Nagar. Complainant Ram Krishan said his daughter had slept in her room on August 12 was not in her room the next day. Later, he came to know that she was allegedly kidnapped by the accused. The police have launched a manhunt. In a similar case, the police have booked one Rahul Mallan, a resident of Kohara, for kidnapping a 25-year-old girl on the pretext of marrying her. The accused kidnapped the girl when she was on her way to attend her tuition on August 13 in Jamalpur. TNS
