Snatchers’ gang busted

LUDHIANA: The CIA wing of the city police claimed to have busted a gang of snatchers and arrested three of its members.

Ludhiana, April 21

The CIA wing of the city police claimed to have busted a gang of snatchers and arrested three of its members. The police also recovered 18 mobile phones, two motorcycles and an Activa scooter from them.

The accused have been identified as Sandeep Kumar, alias Bau, of Subash Nagar; Satinder Singh, alias Shinda, alias Majithia, a native of Amritsar, now living in Jodhewal and Ashwani Kumar also of Jodhewal.

CIA 1 Chief Inspector Prem Singh said the gang was active in various areas of the city, where they used to loot residents at night, adding that the accused were committing loot by thrashing residents with sharp-edges weapons. Singh said the gang had committed several loots in the past and more recoveries of looted valuables could be made from the gang members in further interrogation. — TNS
