Six Doraha school girls shine in Class X examinations

DORAHA: Students of Saraswati Model Senior Secondary School, Doraha, have proved their mettle by securing six merit positions in the Class X results announced by the Punjab School Education Board on Wednesday.

Students of Saraswati Model Senior Secondary School, Doraha, have proved their mettle by securing six merit positions in the Class X results announced by the Punjab School Education Board on Wednesday.

Husanpreet, daughter of Kuljinder Singh, secured tenth rank with 98.31% marks, Navdeep Kaur, daughter of Rashpal Singh, and Simranpreet Kaur Chopra, daughter of Dharamjit Singh, were tied at the 13th rank with 97.85% marks.

Deepakshi, daughter of Raj Kumar, Harnoor Kaur, daughter of Gurmeet Singh, and Simmi Kapila, daughter of Sunil Kapila, have secured 16th rank with 97.38 per cent.

The principal of the school, DS Gusain, congratulated the students, parents and teachers for putting-in their best possible efforts and bringing laurels to the institution and city. He said, “It is for the first time in the history of the school and region that any school had secured six merit positions in any class. These students have been performing consistently well in the exams and were hardworking and diligent. The efforts they have put in their studies and the perseverance and determination they possesses have fetched them good score. We are proud to have such students with us as they belong to a rural background and securing top positions in the exams prove that they have the capacity to work wonders in their life.”

Vice-principal Pritish Gusain termed it as a big achievement for the school.

“Without the hard work and efforts of the staff, this would not have been possible,” he added.
