The Salem Tabri SHO has faced action for not updating his seniors about crime. The SHO, Jasbinder Singh failed to inform the Police Commissioner and his immediate seniors about the loot incident that was reported in the Salem Tabri area.

Police Commissioner RN Dhoke, while confirming the development, said armed robbers had looted one Mohammad Mustkeem last night but the SHO did not give feedback to him about the crime. “The SHOs are duty bound to inform me and his seniors about the crime. I came to know about the loot through social media or from some other platform. Not keeping the senior officers in the loop about the crime is a gross negligence,” the CP added.

The ADCP 1, Gurpreet Singh, said loot was a serious crime and the SHO did not give feedback to his seniors, adding that earlier also he resorted to some negligence, though of a small level.

Mustkeem, a victim, who was attacked by robbers said, last night he was headed to his home in Shivpuri on a scooter when two armed robbers stopped him on the way near the Chand cinema and took away Rs 10,000 cash, two mobile phones from him after threatening him with edged weapons.

“In self-defence, I fired a shot into the air from my licensed weapon. Robbers then fled towards the Jalandhar bypass,” he added.
