The PAU Centre beat Guru Ram Rai Public School by 87 runs to register second win in the first BCM Premier Cricket League (U-16) being held at BCM Senior Secondary School ground, Sector 32, here on Monday.

Batting first, PAU Centre hoisted a big score of 268 runs for the loss of two wickets in 20 overs. The architects of their innings were Rohan Gakhar, Garv Saini and Vansh, who contributed 78, 64 and 58 runs, respectively, while Manas played a swashbuckling innings of 25 runs in six balls.

For Guru Ram Rai School, Vivek grabbed two wickets after giving away 65 runs in four overs.

In reply, Guru Ram Rai School made 181 runs after losing seven wickets thus falling well short of the target. Rohan scored 61 runs in just 19 balls and Armaan contributed 29 runs, while Amrit made 21 runs on nine balls.

For the PAU Centre, Garv Saini, Neeraj and Sehajpreet took two wickets each after conceding 21, 24 and 33 runs, respectively.

Rohan of Guru Ram Rai Public School was adjudged the man of the match for his scintillating batting display.

In another match, GMT Public School, Jalandhar Bypass branch, defeated BCM Senior Secondary School, Sector 32, by eight wickets.

BCM School scored 138 runs for six wickets, in which Harman (41*), Raghav (39) and Gagan (32) were the main contributors, while Pankaj got two wickets for 29 runs for GMT School. Munish claimed two wickets for 18 runs and Bharat grabbed one wicket for 24 runs.

GMT School achieved the target in 15.3 overs (140 for 2). Mandeep and Himanshu chipped in with 34 runs each, while Munish made 26 runs.

For the losing side, Lakshay secured one wicket for 24 runs and Armaan took one for 22 runs. For his outstanding all-round performance, Munish of BCM School was declared the man of the match.
