A rashly driven bus crushed a scooterist to death near the bus stand on Friday evening. Before hitting the scooter, the bus had first hit an auto-rickshaw, in which passengers received minor injuries.

The accident occurred in front of the traffic cops, who were busy issuing challans.

The deceased has been identified as Manoj Kumar (47), a resident of Shivaji Nagar. He was riding a white Activa (PB10EN 6734), which also got badly damaged. He was an accountant by profession and has left behind his wife and a son studying in Class XII.

As per the information, the incident occurred around 6.30 pm, when the driver of the bus heading towards the bus stand from Gill flyover lost control over the vehicle and first hit an auto-rickshaw. The collision was so intense, that one of the passengers in the auto fell out of the auto. Other passengers suffered minor injuries in the incident. The scooterist, who was in front of the auto, also got hit from behind and reportedly got crushed and died on the spot.
