Ludhiana June 16

The Ludhiana Commissionerate has failed to make any headway in the Rs6.40 lakh robbery case even after two days. Four armed robbers had entered a tiles showroom in the city and decamped with Rs6.40 lakh by posing as CIA cops.

Senior police officials claim that they have vital clues about the robbers, but in reality, the police probe is yet to see any light of the day.

Since the Skoda (used in the crime) was sold by some Delhi-based man to a Muktsar-based person, who reportedly further sold the car to other buyers, the police are trying hard to reach out to the buyers of the car. Several teams have been formed for the purpose and are conducting raids in Muktsar and Bathinda among other places.

The case

On June 14, four armed men, posing as CIA cops, looted Rs 6.40 lakh from ‘Krishna Ceremic’, a tiles showroom in Kochar Market, in broad daylight. One of the robbers was wearing a police uniform and his name Ujagar Singh was written on the nameplate. Robbers came in a black Skoda car and introduced themselves as CIA cops. They told the showroom employees that they were conducting a raid related to hawala money racket.
