Red Cross Society denies shortage of PNDT forms

Diagnostic centres have been complaining of shortage of Pre-Natal Diagnostic Test (PNDT) forms. The Health Department has given the responsibility of providing the PNDT forms with Red Cross and today it claimed that there was no shortage of forms.

Red Cross Secretary, Balbir Chand Ayri, claiming this said there was no shortage of the PNDT forms in the district. “We have been providing the forms to everyone who is coming. If anybody is facing any problem he/she can come and contact me,” he said.

Dr GS Grewal, from SAS Grewal Multispeciality Hospital said earlier he was facing the shortage of forms, but today they got the forms from Red Cross.

Filling these forms is mandatory for all pregnant patients and these forms are filled by the doctor carrying out the ultrasound. The copy of this form is submitted by the doctor to the department by the 5th of every month. While one copy is kept by him. Every form bears a specific number and a record of these forms is kept for two years.
