Punjab Day celebrated

Ludhiana: Punjab Day was celebrated at BCM Kindergarten with fervour. A special assembly was conducted by the teachers where they spoke about the importance of Punjab, the land of five rivers. A tribute was paid to the great freedom fighters of Punjab. The students danced on Punjabi songs and relished delicious food, including “saag”, “makki ki roti” and “kheer”. The students took the pledge that they would make their Punjab clean and free of evil.

DCM Presidency School

The students talked about the history of the state and its rich literature and customs. Through a poem, they paid a tribute to their mother tongue Punjabi and inspired everyone to read Punjabi literature that not just entertains but also educates and binds us firmly to our roots. Their mentor, Pooja Sharma, said: “We need to educate our children about the rich cultural legacy of the state they belong to, so they are not just proud of being born here but also work towards making it a better place.” Principal Rajni Kalra appreciated the efforts of the students.

DPS Khanna 

Khanna: DPS Khanna celebrated Punjab Day with fervour. It was a great opportunity for the students to showcase their undying love for their motherland. The programme commenced with a shabad which filled the air with a pious stillness. The poems were recited by Avleen Kaur, Archi Goyal and Aastha Jain. Chhayapreet Kaur delivered a beautiful speech. A skit performed by the students of Class IV and VI bestowed the audience with the heartfelt message of “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao”.

Recreational trip 

Ludhiana: Planet E School organised a recreational trip to Hardy’s World for junior students and Nirwana Adventure and Water Park, Hoshiarpur, for senior students. The students experienced a blend of fun, learning and team building with enthusiasm. It was the thrilling exposure for students as they enjoyed adventurous games, zipper and various other rides.

Run for Unity

“Run for Unity” was organised at Green Grove Public School. Students visited the Mohanpur area to spread the message of unity. Members of the school management and Principal Suzy George appreciated the efforts of the students and their teachers for organising this day. 

Activities organised

Various activities, including modelling, rhyme show and colouring, were organised at Babies Paradise Playway School. Children walked the ramp confidently. They also sang rhymes and took part in a colouring competition with zeal. The winners were awarded certificates and medals.

Vigilance Week celebrated

Blossoms Convent School held a road show to mark Vigilance Week where students carried banners with messages on honesty. The school has formed a club which will work to remove social evils. They created slogans, drew pictures and wrote essays against corruption. Principal Amarjeet Kaur Naaz said they could solve every problem if all educational institutes worked together. 

Police DAV Public School 

Police DAV Public School, Police Lines and Civil Lines, organised various activities, such as a guest session by the Income Tax Department and an essay writing competition by the Postal Department. A special assembly was organised in which students shared their views on creating awareness among the masses. The students took integrity pledge to work for the dignity and integrity of the country and to eliminate corruption from society. tns
