Ludhiana, October 12

Alleging police inaction in an alleged case of scuffle between an employee of the PSPCL and a shopkeeper in Chaura Bazaar yesterday, the power staff today staged a protest against the Kotwali SHO.

Gabbar Singh, an official of the PSPCL, alleged that yesterday when he was parking his car in the Chaura Bazaar parking lot, a shopkeeper started arguing with him and he also tried to manhandle him.

Later when the police was called, the SHO didn’t listen to his plea and let-off the shopkeeper, alleged Gabbar.

Several employees of the PSPCL staged a protest outside their office which is situated near the Kotwali police station. They demanded action against the shopkeeper as well as the SHO for not taking proper action.

The ACP Central, Waryam Singh, reached the spot and pacified the protesters.

Meanwhile, the police officials said the protesters and the shopkeeper had reached a compromise, hence no legal action was taken.
