Majority of roads leading to Mandi Ahmedgarh have been rendered non-motorable. Potholes, mud and litter combined with intermittent rains aggrevate the problems further for commuters.

Condition of road leading to main market on Railway Road, educational institutes and religious places is the worst hit.

Students of MGMN Senior Secondary School and Lal Bahadur Shashtari Public School are a harried lot as they have to pass through stink.

Authorities at the Municipal Council (MC) said inclement weather has played spoilsports and has affected road work.

President MC Suraaj Mohammad and Ward No. 5 councillor Deepak Sharma said process for repair of Gandhi School Road has already commenced. “Though no agenda related to construction or repair of the said road has been passed, we have asked officials concerned to ensure re-carpeting of the road as a special case,” said Mohammad and Sharma.

They said work on the project would start immediately after the weather improves.

Such is the scenario that residents have to ply on longer route to reach their destination.
