As the local officials of the Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB) have not provided required information, Ludhiana East MLA Sanjay Talwar will file a complaint to the chairman of the PPCB.

Talwar on Thursday had demanded from the PPCB to send him information by Friday about the erring dyeing and washing units which dump untreated waste water into the MC’s sewer lane and what action has been taken against them. He said PPCB had not provided any information till 5 pm on Friday. “Now, I will file a complaint to the PPCB chairman. If they still don’t provide information, I will file a complaint to the CM against them,” he said. Despite repeated attempts, Sr Environmental Engineer Sandeep Behl could not be contacted for comment. — TNS
