Police DAV School shines in chess tourney

JAGRAON: The students of the Police DAV School, Jalandhar, proved their dominance by winning top positions in the Under-19 category (boys and girls) of the Cluster-Level Chess Championship of DAV Schools.

The students of the Police DAV School, Jalandhar, proved their dominance by winning top positions in the Under-19 category (boys and girls) of the Cluster-Level Chess Championship of DAV Schools.

The chess championship was organised at DAV Centenary Public School here today. The event was inaugurated by the of host school principal Manju Bala.

In all, 11 teams of DAV Schools took part in the championship. Eleven teams of boys participated in the event, while 6 teams of girls took part in the event. In the boys’ category, the team of Police DAV School, Jalandhar, clinched the first position and Lala Jagat Naraian DAV School Jalandhar secured the second position.

In the girls’ category, the team of Police DAV School, Jalandhar, secured the first position by defeating the team of SCJC DAV School, Dasooha.

Manju Bala distributed prizes among the winners. While congratulating the winners, she motivated the students to take equal interest in extra-curricular activities.
