Police chief issues new orders

The Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana, Dr Sukhchain Singh Gill, has issued orders to the owners of hotels/dharamshalas/sarais/guest houses/PGs/palaces (established and being constructed) that fall under his jurisdiction to get these registered under the Sarai Act 1867.

Ludhiana is the leading industrial city of Punjab. A large number of businessmen and other people stay here for nights. It has been observed that many of these housing administrators have not been registered according to law due to which the lives of people/businessmen staying in these places remain in danger. This order, issued keeping in view the safety of people, has come into force immediately, he said.
