Khanna, April 1

The police have claimed to arrest a foreigner national and recover 400-gm heroin from his possession.

The accused has been identified as George N Bole, a resident of Liberia. Currently, Bole was residing at Navada, Uttam Nagar, New Delhi.

Khanna DSP Deepak Rai said a police team led by City-2 SHO Davinder Singh was patrolling near Prem Bhandari Park, Amloh Road.

A foreigner coming from the GT Road Khanna tried to turn back after seeing the police.

The cops stopped him and during his search 400-gm heroin was recovered from Bole, he said.

A case under Sections 21/61/85 of the NDPS Act has been registered against the alleged accused, said the DSP.

Meanwhile, the claims and role of the police came under the scanner after Bole, who while being escorted out after the press conference and could speak Hindi stated that he was arrested from Uttam Nagar, New Delhi, and not from Khanna as claimed by the Khanna police.

The police officials refuted his claim and maintained that he was arrested from Khanna itself.

It is pertinent to mention that it was a second incident wherein claims of the Khanna police and alleged accused differ.

Two days ago, the Khanna police had claimed to recover Rs 9.66 crore from three vehicles near Doraha.

However, the alleged accused had stated the money was recovered during a raid at their office located near Jalandhar by the Khanna police.
