Pistol stolen from scooter near gurdwara

LUDHIANA: Two youths allegedly stole a bag containing a licensed pistol from a two-wheeler parked outside Gurdwara Sukhmani Sahib in Phase II of Dugri on Sunday evening.

Two youths allegedly stole a bag containing a licensed pistol from a two-wheeler parked outside Gurdwara Sukhmani Sahib in Phase II of Dugri on Sunday evening. The police have registered a case against two unidentified persons on a complaint of Rajan Jain, a resident of Guru Angad Dev Colony here.

In his complaint to the police, Rajan Jain stated that he had come to Gurdwara Sukhmani Sahib on his scooter in the evening. He parked his scooter outside the gurdwara and went inside. “When I returned, I found the bag I had kept in the glove box of the scooter missing. When I enquired in the nearby area, I was told that two youths riding a motorcycle stole the bag from the scooter,” said Jain.

According to Jain, the bag contained his licensed 32-bore pistol, eight cartridges and some documents. The investigating officer, ASI Gyan Singh, said the police had registered a case against unidentified persons in this regard and further investigation was on.
