Petro dealers vow for safety of people, staff

Office-bearers and activists of the Petro Dealers Association have vowed to continue taking organised measures for safety of the people visiting filling stations, besides members of the staff posted at their establishments.

Dealers took an oath during concluding session of the Fire Service Week being observed nationwide under the guidance of the National Safety Council.

Kamal Sharma presided over the session and deputy general manager, Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Narender Verma, was the chief guest at the function held at Lehra village near here.

Speakers, including Verma, Kamal Sharma, Sandeep Sahi and Rameshwar Dass Sharma, focused on educating all concerned, including employees of petrol pumps and occupants of vehicles availing refill, about precautions to be taken to prevent accidental fires at and near filling stations.

The participants paid tributes to victims of devastating fire that erupted and explosions, which followed on April 14, 1944, at the Victoria Dock in the Bombay Port.
