LUDHIANA: A man in his fifties was killed after being hit by a vehicle near Dhandari Kalan on the Ludhiana-New Delhi national highway past evening.

A man in his fifties was killed after being hit by a vehicle near Dhandari Kalan on the Ludhiana-New Delhi national highway past evening. The deceased has been identified as Ram Kumar, a resident of Guru Nanak Colony, Dhandari Kalan, here.

In his complaint to the police, the deceased’s son Anil Kumar said he, along with his parents, had gone to the market yesterday. “While my father was trying to cross the road near Dhandari Bridge, he was hit by a speeding vehicle. The vehicle driver sped off,” he said.

Anil, with the help of some passers-by, rushed his father to Civil Hospital, Sahnewal, where he succumbed to injuries.
