The students of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) staged a protest on Friday, demanding entry of their four-wheeler on university campus. The students have been staging protests against certain decisions taken by the university for past three days. However, some of their demands were accepted earlier.

They sat on dharna at Thapar Hall to mark their protests. The students said that the university authorities have denied entry of four wheelers of students in the university campus for past some time but the vehicles of VIPs and others are allowed inside the campus.

The students also demanded from the authorities to allow cabs at the university campus as the students are forced to suffer a lot. “University authorities had earlier accepted our some other demands but they are not ready to allow students to bring their four-wheeler. Many outsiders and VIPs bring their four-wheeler at university campus. We make a humble request to the authorities that students should also be allowed to bring their four-wheeler at university campus as many students are suffering due to ban on entry of their cars”, a student said.

“As our demand is not met, we will continue our protest on Monday. The university authorities should understand our issues,” a student said.
