PAU school students hog the limelight

Players of Government Model Senior Secondary School, Punjab Agricultural University, hogged limelight by clinching titles in the boys and girls (U-17) Weekend Handball League for Schools, held on the PAU campus ground, here on Saturday.

In the boys’ final, Government School, PAU, survived many anxious moments before romping home victorious 33-32 against Government Senior Secondary School, Cemetery Road, Civil Lines.

Earlier, in the semi finals, the PAU school got the better of Ludhiana II 22-20, while Government School, Cemetery Road, overpowered International Public School, Sandhu Nagar, 23-22 to advance into the final.

In the girl’s final, Government School, PAU, dominated Government School, Cemetery Road 13-12, to lift the title.

In the semi finals, Government School, PAU, thrashed BVM Senior Secondary School, Udham Singh Nagar, 18-7 and Government School, Cemetery Road, outperformed International Public School 14-9 to set up the title clash.
