Ludhiana: The Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) on Thusday entered into an agreement with the Sattva Seeds Private Limited, a Chhattisgarh-based seed company for licensing of CH-27 (Chilli hybrid) and PPH 1 (Pumpkin hybrid).

Dr Ajmer Singh Dhatt, Head, Department of Vegetable Science said Chilli hybrid 27 developed by the PAU is a high yielding variety. He revealed that PPH-1 is extra-early in maturity and can be harvested after 45 days of transplanting. The bushy nature of plant is suitable for high density planting to get more returns. The mottled-green colour and small size of fruit (800g) are highly liked by consumers.

Dr SS Chahal, adjunct professor, Technology Marketing said the PAU has signed 9 MoAs for CH-27 and 2 MoAs for PPH 1 with various companies in India. — TNS
