Ludhiana, July 18
The Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) on Wednesday signed a Memorandum of Agreemenet (MoA) with the RVG Agro Private Limited, Sangli, (Maharashtra) for commercialisation of sugarcane juice bottling technology.
Dr Bains congratulated Dr Poonam Aggarwal Sachdev HoD, Department of Food Technology and Karanvir Gill (teaching associate) for developing sugarcane juice technology that is shelf stable, preservative free and ready to serve.
Dr Sachdev revealed that sugarcane juice is thermally processed to kill micro-organisms and increase shelf life, thereby offering a completely healthy and hygienic product in comparison to roadside vendors.
The varsity also inked a pact with the GS Agri Works, Moga, Navindra Agro Industries, Kaurthala, and Guru Nanak Agro Industries, Nabha, for commercialisation of the PAU Super SMS Technology.
Dr SS Chahal, adjunct professor, Technology Marketing said the PAU has signed 111 MoAs for PAU Super SMS Technology.
