Over 50 students placed at job fair

(SBS) held a job fair “Umeed” at its campus on Sunday. The job fair provided a platform not just to students who are searching for jobs but also to companies which look for talented manpower.

Leading manufacturing and service sector organisations, including Vacancy India, Indiabulls, New Era Machine Private Limited, Tech Auto India, Oster Groups, National Press Associations, DBC Trust, Nano Chemical Brothers, JV Exports, USBCO Steels Private Limited, Vayutel, Aditya Birla Capital etc. participated in the job fair. Students from various colleges and institutes appeared in the interview.

Over 50 candidates were short listed for various roles, including HR manager, marketing executives, finance executives etc.

Chairperson of SBS Dr Ghazala Qadri said that over 30 colleges were contacted and candidates searching for jobs were informed through emails and messages.

Recruitment drive held

The Federal Bank officials visited the Ludhiana College of Engineering and Technology, Katani Kalan, to hold a recruitment drive.

Over 100 students from various colleges of Punjab had registered themselves. Satheesh D Prabhu, deputy vice-president and RCH head, Lorance BR, area manager, Sriroopa Dey Choudhary, HR manager interviewed the students.

Dr Prateek Kalia, head-placements at the LCET said the selected candidates have been offered a package of Rs 4 lakh per annum.

Engineering (ME, AE) and management (MBA) students also got opportunity to undergo a 45-day internship at Hero Cycles Limited.

Anil Jain, senior manager, addressed the students and sensitised them about the Hero Cycles and their recruitment process. He added that successful candidates would also get employment offer at the Hero Cycles.
