Ludhiana, October 17

The police today claimed to have nabbed a smuggler with 95 cases of illicit liquor. He has been identified as Gurdeep Singh of Koom Kalan. Two of his accomplices, Paramvir Singh and Jasjit Singh, both from Koom Kalan, gave the police the slip.

Additional DCP Sachin Gupta and ACP Vaibhav Sehgal conducted a press conference after Gurdeep’s arrest. Sachin said the police got a tip-off that Gurdeep and Paramvir were on the way to deliver a huge consignment of liquor.

The police also impounded two cars and an SUV belonging to the suspects. They smuggled liquor from the neighbouring states and sold it to their clients in Ludhiana.
