Dr Kamalpreet Singh Dhillon, Secretary, Department of Commerce and Industries, Chhattisgarh Government, has called upon the entrepreneurs of the region to strengthen their economic position by establishing business and industries in “fast-developing” state (Chhattisgarh).

An appeal was made during a function held at Hind Hospital to inaugurate modular ultramodern surgical wing of the institute.

Addressing office-bearers and activists of various organisations of traders and industrialists, Dhillon acknowledged that the profitability of industrial units of the border state had shrunken due to varied reasons during the past decades. Geographical location and higher cost of inputs were identified as major factors behind the fragile viability of these units.

Highlighting special facilities for entrepreneurs in Chhattisgarh, Dhillon claimed that concessions and subsidies for the natives of the state were also available for those coming from other states. “Now, when the taxation system has become uniform in all states, liberal policies of our government have starting encouraging entrepreneurs from across the country,” said Dr Dhillon, maintaining that capital and running expenses for some industries were very low as compared to those of the Punjab. Dr Dhillon said cost of all inputs, including land, labour, coal, aluminum, iron ores and cement was very low than other states, including Punjab.

Prefabricated installations, rice mills and food industries, besides building construction, were cited as avenues which could be explored by small and medium scale industrialists. Dr Dhillon, who is an alumnus of Dayanand Senior Secondary School, Ahmedgarh, was felicitated by various organisations.
