The protest to demand flyover on the Jhar Sahib road from Samrala bypass is still going on as five protesters sit on hunger strike daily.

Sometime ago, a few protestors sat on a dharna, demanding flyover for the Jhar Sahib road, but were forcibly removed from the site and taken into preventive custody by a team of Samrala police in the presence of Duty Magistrate. They were released the same day and the NHAI restarted the work to complete the stretch.

The people of about 40 villages had demanded a flyover for Jhar Sahib road and the leaders of some organisations were on a hunger strike.

They were not allowing the NHAI authorities to complete the work of road on the Samrala bypass.
