A man, who had consumed insecticide in a suicide attempt on October 23, died yesterday. His wife has been booked on the charge of abetment to suicide.

Besides the deceased’s wife Ramandeep Kaur, her brother Varinder Singh and her mother Harjit Kaur, a resident of Kabir Nagar, Daba Road, have been booked.

The deceased had told the police that he owned a factory in the city. He got married to Ramandeep in 2002. He had been harassed by his wife, mother-in-law and brother-in-law for the past two years. His wife and children had started living at her parents’ house.
