Nirmal Mahajan (73), a resident of Vikas Nagar, was conned out of her gold bangles weighing 30 gm by three car-borne persons, including two women.

In her statement to the police, Nirmal said she was waiting for a bus at 9.30 in the morning on Sunday at Punjab Mata Nagar Chowk to go to Dera Radha Soami in Daad village on Pakhowal Road when a white car driven by a clean-shaven person stopped near her. Two women sitting on the rear seat offered her a lift to Satsang Bhawan.

“When the car reached near B-7 Resorts, one of the women hurriedly told me to get down as she was feeling nausea and would perhaps vomit,” said Nirmal, adding that the car sped away after she alighted. While coming back from the Satsang Bhawan, she found her two bangles, each weighing 15 gram, were missing from her wrists.

The Dugri police have registered a case under sections 34/379 of the IPC against unknown persons.
