As many as 19 Punjab Civil Services (PCS) officers of Ludhiana district would go on one-day strike tomorrow to mark their protest against the increasing violence incidents against the officers. These officers will gather at the Circuit House to mark their protest.

A PCS officer in Ludhiana said they were observing the strike in a peaceful manner against the violence incidents where the PCS officers were targeted but no action was taken against the accused. “Even I have been targeted twice, but no action was taken against the accused. Besides, we are facing some other issues too. We will gather at the Circuit House at 9 am tomorrow to observe the strike,” said the officer.

The officers will wear black ribbons to mark their protest during the strike. The PCS officers of other districts of the state will also go on strike.

A retired officer said, “In a democracy, officers are public servants. There is a dire need to bring reforms at the administrative level and there should be no political interference in their working. If the administration works in a right manner, the issues of the public will get resolved.”
