Organisation seeks accreditation of 8,000 private schools in state

LUDHIANA: A meeting of the Punjab Private Schools Organisation (PPSO) was held here today. Tejpal Singh, secretary general of the association, said the main agenda of the meeting was to discuss problems faced by 2,100 associated schools, issues related to annual examinations of Class V and VIII, new national education policy, state education department’s increasing interference in private schools and hike in fees by the board.

A meeting of the Punjab Private Schools Organisation (PPSO) was held here today.

Tejpal Singh, secretary general of the association, said the main agenda of the meeting was to discuss problems faced by 2,100 associated schools, issues related to annual examinations of Class V and VIII, new national education policy, state education department’s increasing interference in private schools and hike in fees by the board.

Members demanded that to comply with the new education policy, 8,000 private schools in the state should be declared accreditated schools. They also demanded that the government should make sure that the needs of private schools are fulfilled.

Didar Singh Dhindsa said just like the government had taken back NOC and CLU to promote industry, in the same manner, private schools should also be given some relief.
