Ban on city dyeing industry lifted

LUDHIANA: The Deputy Commissioner has lifted the ban on operations of dyeing units in five clusters of the city. Earlier, Deputy Commissioner-cum-Chairman of District Disaster Management Authority, Ludhiana, Pradeep Kumar Agrawal, on the recommendation of the Municipal Commissioner, had issued orders for the closure of these industries.

The Deputy Commissioner has lifted the ban on operations of dyeing units in five clusters of the city.

Earlier, Deputy Commissioner-cum-Chairman of District Disaster Management Authority, Ludhiana, Pradeep Kumar Agrawal, on the recommendation of the Municipal Commissioner, had issued orders for the closure of these industries. The swelling Sutlej had forced the closure of the STP. Now, the plant has been restarted with water in the river receding.

Industries at Bahadurke cluster, between Samrala Chowk to Jalandhar Bypass, Tajpur Road dyeing industry, Industrial Area-A, Moti Nagar and all dyeing units in the Focal Point area were ordered to close down earlier.
