Ludhiana: Students of Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, proved their mettle in a poster-making competition held at Aykai Super Specialty Hospital on the theme of “organ donation- a gift of life”. Around 60 students from various schools across the city participated in the competition. The school bagged the Special Appreciation Award. Chirag of Class VII and Simran of Class XI secured positions among winners. Principal Jyoti Sachdev Pujara congratulated the winners.

Students granted scholarships

Reaping fruits of their hard work, deserving students of Darshan Academy were awarded scholarships for their academic achievements at a scholarships award ceremony oranised on school campus. Two students of Class XII, Kumar Gourav and Ankit Jha, received the Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj Scholastic Scholarship of Rs 30,000 and Rs 25,000, respectively. Principal Rajdeep Kaur Aulakh congratulated the scholarship recipients.

Career Counselling Workshop

To help its students in taking crucial career decisions after Class XII, Tagore Public School organised a career counselling workshop. Shweta Miglani, career coach at Skill Mapping, addressed 100 students on confidence, personality development, interests and emotional quotient. Principal Manju Kansal thanked the spokesperson for helping students regarding their issues.

DAV Public School

A career counselling session was organised at DAV Public School, BRS Nagar, for the students of Classes IX and X. Saurabh from Wonder Skool, Panchkula, was the resource person. The session aimed at making students aware about various career options available after Class XII, criteria for admissions to various colleges and future prospects of each course. Principal JK Sidhu thanked Saurabh for the valuable inputs given to the students.

Orientation Programme for Parents

An orientation programme for parents was organised at Spring Dale Public School for the parents of students of Class X and XII. The latest guidelines introduced by CBSE in regards to curriculum and examination of Class X and XII were highlighted to parents. The major areas of discussion were standard guidelines about assessment pattern, regular attendance of students, cons of overusing mobile phones and importance of a healthy nutritional diet.

National Senior Citizens Day

BVM, Udham Singh Nagar, celebrated National Senior Citizens Day by organising a special morning assembly. Teachers motivated students to respect, support, honour and appreciate the elderly by recognising their contribution made to society. A visit to Swami Vivekanand Old Age Home for students of Class IX to XII was organised with the aim to inculcate values of empathy and compassion towards senior citizens. TNS

Little makhan chors

Tiny tots of Childhood Kindergarten, Punjab Mata Nagar, enacted childhood scenes of lord Krishna. The importance of the festival was explained to students. Little Kanhas and Radhas played flutes and enjoyed swings. A 'balancing pot on head' activity and a few other challenging contests were also held. Students were given the best smile award, student with the best traditional jewellery award, best dress award and best hairstyle award. The most interesting show of the day was the 'Natkhat Kanha', in which teachers chose the naughtiest boys to play Lord Krishna. TNS
