Ludhiana, July 22

Taxi drivers and toll plaza employees entered into a scuffle at Ladhowal Toll Plaza on Monday.

Parminder Singh, a 35-year-old taxi driver of Baddowal, alleged that the guards at the toll plaza hit him on his head leaving him injured.

He said he was returning to Ludhiana in a Limousine from Jalandhar, when he was asked to shift to another lane to pay the toll. As the car was long, he said he was unable to reverse, but some employees of the toll plaza allegedly hit his car. When he objected to it, they attacked him, he said.

Meanwhile, a few other taxi drivers came forward to help Singh and informed the police about the incident. On reaching the police station, both groups entered into a scuffle again, said Manmohan Singh, SHO at Ladhowal police station.

He said Jatinder, an employee of the toll plaza, got injured in the scuffle. He said the police took action under Sections 107 and 151 of the CrPC against both parties.

The police have detained taxi drivers Parminder Singh and Gurwinder Singh and toll plaza guards Jatinder Kumar and Vijay Kumar for entering into a scuffle in a police station.
