3 nabbed with 6 cases of liquor

The Focal Point police claimed to have nabbed three liquor smugglers and recovered six cases of illicit liquor from them.

The accused have been identified Kuljit Singh, Gopal Sharma of Neechi Mangli and Jasvir Singh of Sahnewal.

SHO Focal Point Inspector Amandeep Singh Brar said a tip-off was received that the accused were bringing the consignment of liquor from neighbouring states and were selling it in retail in city areas.

The SHO said a naka was laid accordingly at a specific spot by Ishwar Colony in charge Surjit Singh and the smugglers were held with the illicit liquor.

The SHO said the accused were into the notorious trade from a long time, adding that more recovery of liquor could be made during further interrogation.

The police are also checking the past record of the accused.
