2 women held with heroin, drug money

LUDHIANA: The anti-narcotics cell of the Ludhiana Commissionerate has nabbed two women smugglers along with their accomplice and recovered drugs from their possession.

The anti-narcotics cell of the Ludhiana Commissionerate has nabbed two women smugglers along with their accomplice and recovered drugs from their possession.

The women smugglers have been identified as Parminder Kaur, Sarla and their accomplice Manoj Kumar, all residents of Gurbachan Colony. The police recovered 14 gram heroin, Rs 18,000 drug money, an electronic weighing machine from their possession.

The investigating officer, ASI Sukhwinder Singh, said during routine patrolling at Gurbachan Colony, two women and a man were seen standing outside a house. On seeing the police party, they threw a polythene bag and tried to flee the spot.

The police got suspicious and chased them. They found heroin in the polythene bag dumped by the suspects.

In a similar case, the Tibba police nabbed Ravi of Atal Nagar and recovered 9 gram heroin from his possession. He was nabbed from Star City where he was waiting for his clients to deliver the consignment.

In yet another case, the Sahnewal police nabbed Sukhwinder Singh of Hamira and his mother Kulwinder Kaur with 32 kg of poppy husk and 1 kg of opium. The investigating officer, ASI Gurmit Singh, said they got a tip-off that the suspects were into the drug trade and were on the way to deliver drugs to their clients near the truck union office at Sahnewal. The police laid a trap and nabbed them with drugs.
