The admission procedure for diploma courses after class X has begun at city-based polytechnic colleges. The results of both Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) was out early this month and students interested in getting admission courses can get themselves registered till June 10.

Satguru Ram Singh Government Polytechnic College located at Rishi Nagar and Guru Nanak Dev Polytechnic College are offering various diploma courses for students.

Satguru Ram Singh Government Polytechnic College is running three-year engineering diploma courses in six disciplines which include computer science and engineering, electronics and communication engineering, information technology, garment manufacturing technology, fashion designing and modern office practise. It is all girls institute.

Guru Nanak Dev Polytechnic College located inside the Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College is a co-educational institute and provides diploma in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, automobile engineering, electronics and comm. engineering and computer engineering.

“Students have to deposit the nominal registration fee of Rs 550 to the technical board while filing the form online. After the filing of the applications, the board will release the merit list and seats will be allotted according to the merit. First counselling will be held between June 12 and 18 and the list will be released on June 20 by 5 pm. The students will be allotted seats from June 21-26. Second Counselling will be held from June 28 to July 3. List will be out on July 5 and seats will be allotted from July 6-11. Last and final counselling will be held on July 15,” said Hardeep Singh Jawanda from Guru Nanak Dev Polytechnic College.
