Rupali Jindal, a voter registered at booth number 192 of Sahnewal was astonished to find that someone else had cast her vote.
Jindal said she felt very bad as she was unable to exercise her franchsie. She alleged that the polling staff asked her to come around 5.30 pm. “I fail to understand what the polling staff was doing if they cannot check who voted in place of whom?” she said.
Ludhiana (East) SDM Amarjit Singh Bains said, “Many a times, particulars of two voters are similar and mistake may occur, but there is always a way out. The voter could have exercised the tender vote in that case.” — OC
